JEFF DUNTEMANN'S VISIO TUBE STENCILS

Version of 2/13/97

By Jeff Duntemann K7JPD

This file contains the Visio stencil patterns
for electron tubes that I drew, from scratch.
These are NOT based on the tube patterns that
Visio added to their schematic symbols stencils
starting with version 3.

These are freeware and may be distributed without
payment, tho attribution would be nice.

There are three separate stencil files here. Visio
stencils are, unfortunately, version dependent:

VISTUBE2.VSS	For Visio 2
VISTUBE3.VSS	For Visio 3
VISTUBES.VSS	For Visio 4

If you have the first version you're out of luck;
later versions cannot export stencils to the Visio
1 format.

I update this file erratically, as I need new tube
symbols and draw them. However, this version has
quite a few new symbols and it may do me until I
need a pattern for a magic eye tube or something a
little bizarre like that.

This file lives on my Web site, and you can always
find it here:

http://www.duntemann.com/12vtubes/vistube.zip

I have several Web pages there about building things with
tubes, especially 12V "space charge" tubes. Here's the
index page, from which the several other pages can be
reached:

Do stop in and take a look. Lotsa links to schematics
and projects and things, sources of parts, etc.

Good luck and let me know if you find this useful.

ADDENDUM:

5/20/97

I added several new files to this archive. There
are basically two stencils: COMPLACE and PCPADS.
COMPLACE is a compendium of component drawings that
I use to help me get pad spacings right on PC
boards. PCPADS is a collection of common PC board
pads for transistors, ICs, and common tubes. It
lacks the octal socket pattern because octals are
notoriously bad for PC work; octal tubes hold onto
their sockets too hard, and if you yank on them
they have been known to bring a ragged chunk of
PC board away with them, socket and all.

As with the tube pattern stencils, the files with
numbers in them (like COMPLC3) are for earlier
versions of Visio; 3 and 2, specifically. It's no
longer possible to export symbols in Vision 1 format.
Files without numbers (COMPLACE and PCPADS) are for
Visio 4.

Same conditions apply: Freeware all, though if you
have something similar, consider swapping me your
patterns...or maybe a tube socket or two.
